Our Mission Statement

To perpetuate and preserve Hawaiian customs of tradtional knowledge as they pertain to enhnacing and promoting traditional values, cultural practices, environmental preservation and protection

Project Goal:

To provide a program to our community that works closely with traditional knowledge practitioners. And to teach skills which can be used to help perpetuate our cultural heritage

Many of our cultural traditions are no longer taught or practiced. Our goal is to create in our community a guild of craftsmen and artisans who, learning from our elders, will help to perpetuate our many wonderful traditions.

 

Class Schedule:

Jan to march 30th_full:  traditional wood carving

next class_April june30th:  16weeks/ open

Students allowed to keep images, weapons, tools and bowls made in class
All classes are provided free to the community
Classes run eight weeks and are held every Sunday in Waimea Valley O’ahu from 10am to 4pm.
